Diaconate Day 2019

The Josem family with a grateful heart to God brought forth 19 brothers to be ordained as deacons. They had 3 days of intensive preparation in Shanti Sadhan by Rev. Fr. George Stephen SJ. Thus after a good integral preparation, all 19 candidates for 9 different dioceses and 2 religious congregations were ordained deacons on 11th August by his Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Raphy Manjaly at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Allahabad. The bishop in his sermon explained the meaning and the duty of a deacon and exhorted all to grow in faith and to make it fruitful by a way of life affected by faith. Thereafter all the faithful who had participated in the diaconate celebration were served tea and snack. The invited special guests gathered in the Seminary to felicitate the newly ordained deacons and also to enjoy an ‘agapeic’ thanksgiving lunch.
